What is CVJ Anomalies?

CVJ (Craniovertebral Junction) Anomalies refer to abnormal conditions or malformations at the junction where the skull meets the spine, particularly where the cervical spine (the neck region) connects to the skull. The CVJ is a critical area as it houses important neural structures, including the brainstem, spinal cord, and arteries.

Symptoms

  4. Weakness or numbness in the arms or legs
  5. Loss of Coordination or balance
  6. Difficulty Swallowing (dysphagia)

  9. Loss of Bladder or Bowel Control
  10. Neurological Deficits (e.g., paralysis, sensory loss)
