Brain Tumors
A brain tumor is like an uninvited guest who sets up camp in your brain.
What is brain tumors?
It occurs when there is a problem with blood flow to a portion of the brain. Strokes are a potentially fatal emergency for which prompt medical intervention is essential to avert irreversible harm or death.
There are two main types of stroke:
- Ischemic Stroke: This is the most common type, occurring when a blood clot blocks blood flow to the brain.
- Hemorrhagic Stroke: This happens when a blood vessel in the brain bursts, causing bleeding.

What is Pituitary tumors?
A pituitary tumor is an abnormal growth in the pituitary gland, a small organ located at the base of the brain. The pituitary gland is often called the “master endocrine gland” because it produces hormones that affect many other glands and body functions.
Pituitary tumors can be benign (noncancerous) or malignant (cancerous):
Benign pituitary adenomas: These tumors grow slowly and don’t spread to other parts of the body.
Invasive pituitary adenomas: These benign tumors can spread to the sinus cavity or skull bones.
Pituitary carcinomas: These malignant tumors can spread into the brain, spinal cord, or outside of the central nervous system.
Symptoms
Macroadenomas can put pressure on the pituitary gland, on nerves, on the brain and on other parts of the body nearby. That can cause symptoms such as:
- Headache.
- Eye problems due to pressure on the optic nerve, especially loss of side vision, also called peripheral vision, and double vision.
- Pain in the face, sometimes including sinus pain or ear pain.
- Drooping eyelid.
- Seizures.
- Nausea and vomiting.
What is Malignant Brain Tumors
Symptoms
A malignant tumor is a cancerous tumor that can spread to other parts of the body. Symptoms vary depending on the tumor’s location, but some general symptoms include:
- Fatigue.
- Shortness of breath
- Anemia
- Diarrhea
- Weight loss
- Drenching night sweats
- Abnormal lumps or bumps
